Vesturbær is a suburb in Reykjavík in Iceland, comprising of Gamli Vesturbærinn, Bráðræðisholt, Grandahverfi, Hagahverfi, Melar, Skjól, Grímsstaðaholt, Skildinganes and Litli Skerjafjörður. The district is home to the University of Iceland, in addition to four grade schools: Melaskóli, Landakotsskóli, Vesturbæjarskóli and Grandaskóli and one middle school Hagaskóli. The athletics team KR is also based in Vesturbær, and has its stadium based in the area.
