  • 血管奇形（けっかんきけい、Vascular Malformation）とは、先天性の血管の形成異常である。 血管腫と混同されがちであるが、血管奇形の場合、血管内皮細胞は正常で出生前から存在する点、外傷や感染、ホルモン変調など成長によって増大し、自然退縮しない点において、血管内皮細胞が異常増殖するものの、90%以上は7歳頃までに自然退縮する小児の良性腫瘍である血管腫とは大きく異なる。かつては血管腫と血管奇形の正確な分類はなされていなかったため、様々な病名が用いられてしまったことが、正確な分類を妨げる原因となっている。また、疾患部位が全身にわたるため、診療科が脳外科、皮膚科、形成外科、放射線科、小児科、整形外科などと多岐にわたっている点も、正確な診断の妨げとなっているようである。従来、『ポートワイン色病変』『火炎状母斑』『海綿状血管腫』『静脈性血管腫』『リンパ管腫』『単純性血管腫』などと称されていたものは最近の分類（ISSVA分類）では血管奇形に属す 。臨床上、血流の遅いもの（low-flow-lesion）と血流の速いもの（high-flow-lesion）に分けられ、さらにそれらは血流の遅い『毛細血管奇形』『静脈奇形』『リンパ管奇形』と血流の速い『動静脈奇形』に分けられる。治療は、それぞれの症状にあわせて、手術や塞栓術、硬化療法などが行われる。
