Van Arthur Nelson is a retired long-distance runner from the United States. He claimed the gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games in both the Men's 10,000 meters and 5,000 meters, and represented his native country in the 1968 Summer Olympics. Affiliated with the St. Cloud State College Nelson won the 5K/10K double at the 1967 Pan American Games, making him one of only two athletes to win that double.
