He is also interested in the implications of the increased weight of developing countries for the pattern of financial flows, trade and migration, and the associated economic policy and governance questions. Currently, Dadush edits the International Economics Bulletin. A French citizen, Dadush previously served as the World Bank’s director of international trade for six years, starting in July 2002. Prior to that, he served as director of economic policy for three years. He has also worked concurrently as the director of the Bank’s world economy group over the last eleven years, leading the preparation of the Bank’s flagship reports on the international economy over that period. In addition, he spent time as the director of the development prospects group at the World Bank, and as such, was responsible for the Bank’s Global Economic Prospects and Global Development Finance reports. This Group is responsible for analyses and projections of the world economy and its implications for developing countries, including the trends in capital flows and prices of primary commodities. He joined the Bank in 1992, starting as the Chair of the Economic Policy Sector Board and the Director of Economic Policy. He then moved to serve as division chief for international economic analysis and prospects and held this position until 1997. Prior to joining the World Bank, he was president and CEO of the Economist Intelligence Unit and Business International, part of the Economist Group (1986–1992). He was also the international group vice president for Data Resources, Inc. from 1982–1986 and a consultant with McKinsey and Co. in Europe. Dadush has his PhD in business economics from Harvard University. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from Hebrew University.
