The University of Greenwich is a "modern university" (post 1992) located in the London Borough of Greenwich, east London, England. The main campus is the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College: the centre piece of the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site. The University has a 150 year lease on parts of three of the four Royal Courts. Situated on the south side of the river Thames in central Greenwich it is near London's financial centre Canary Wharf.
