Turkish Cypriots are the ethnically Turkish inhabitants of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The term is sometimes used to refer explicitly to the indigenous Turkish Cypriots, as opposed to the Turkish migrants who have settled there since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. A large number of Turkish Cypriots reside in northern Cyprus, which occupies the northern one-third of the island. Gelegentlich wurden früher die Zypern-Türken als „Zyprer“, die „Zypern-Griechen“ hingegen als „Zyprioten“ bezeichnet; heute ist generell die Bezeichnung „Zyprer“ für beide Volksgruppen üblich.

Terminu tego używa się dla odróżnienia od zamieszkujących południe wyspy Greków cypryjskich oraz od przybyłych po 1974 w ramach tureckiej akcji osiedleńczej Turków z Anatolii. Według spisu ludności z 2006 Cypr Północny zamieszkiwało 264,2 tys. Turków cypryjskich. W południowej, greckiej części wyspy jest ich około 2 tys. Poza wyspą mieszka ponad 260 tys. , głównie w Wielkiej Brytanii (200 tys. ) i Australii (50 tys.). Liczba Turków cypryjskich zamieszkujących Turcję nie jest znana, niektóre źródła podają nawet liczbę 500 tys.

Kıbrıs Türkleri'nin etnik yapı olarak, Osmanlı idaresindeki din değiştirmeler hariç Anadolu Türkleri'nden pek farkı yoktur.
