The Turanoid race or Turko-Tatar race, as it is sometimes called, is actually a sub-species of the Caucasoid race. It is the only Caucasoid sub-species that is partially interbred with the Mongoloid race. This racial group is believed to be found mainly in the Kazakhs and in some Hungarians and some Turks of Turkey. It is also common in the Uzbeks and the Uighurs. The ancient Bulgars, the ancestors of modern Bulgarians, were originally members of this sub-race.
