Tufte IL is a Norwegian football team which was spawned from a series of advertisements by Norsk Tipping (Norwegian betting - The Norwegian National Lottery). Tufte IL is made for the TV reality show "Heia Tufte!" (Go Tufte!), shown on the commercial TV channel TVNorge, about 16 nerds learning to play football by ex-Tottenham and Norwegian international goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt. The show is inspired by the Danish show about FC Zulu, and gained instant popularity in Norway.

Vålerenga fielded only 7 players for the match, but still won the match 15-1. They were named Name of the year 2005 in both the newspaper VG and the TV station TV 2
  • Tufte IL er et fotballag konstruert for TVNorges realityprogram Heia Tufte!. TVNorge ba unge menn som aldri hadde rørt en fotball før, melde seg på det nye laget, slik at de kunne lage en TV-serie om utviklingen fra et totalt inkompetent til et ganske OK lag. Målet for serien var at laget skulle spille en fotballkamp mot Vålerenga Fotball i Valhall i Oslo 5. november 2005. Ideen til tittelen og navnet på laget kom fra en norsk reklamefilm for pengespillet Lotto, der keeperen i filmens fiktive «Tufte IL» hadde vunnet så mye penger i Lotto at han kunne leie inn den danske keeperkjendisen Peter Schmeichel til å ta over for seg i målet. Programideen kommer fra Danmark, der Nordisk film laget en programserie som het FC Zulu. Det danske laget skulle trenes opp til å slå FC København (FCK), en kamp som til slutt endte med 1–6 til FCK. Programideen er solgt til 20 land.
