Trasmiera is a historic comarca of Cantabria, located to the east of the Miera River (tras Miera, meaning behind Miera, from the point of view of Asturias de Santillana), reaching the western side of the Asón. It extends between the bays of Santander and Santoña, occupying most of the Eastern seaboard of Cantabria. This piece of coast is known for its cliffs and fine beaches, such as those of Langre, Loredo, Isla, Noja and Berria.

- La comarca de Trasmiera (o Merindad de Trasmiera; Tresmiera en montañés e históricamente) es una de las comarcas históricas de Cantabria situada al este del río Miera hasta el río Asón. Se extiende entre las bahías de Santander y Santoña, ocupando gran parte del litoral oriental de Cantabria. La costa de este tramo se caracteriza por sus acantilados y sus bellas playas como las de Langre, Loredo, Isla, las de Noja y la de Berria en Santoña. Hacia el interior la comarca ofrece extensos prados así como un gran desarrollo hotelero y campista. A pesar de que ya existe una ley de comarcalización de Cantabria, ésta todavía no ha sido desarrollada por lo tanto la comarca no tiene entidad real.

It is subdivided into the municipalities of Argoños, Arnuero, Bárcena de Cicero, Bareyo, Entrambasaguas, Escalante, Hazas de Cesto, Liérganes, Marina de Cudeyo, Medio Cudeyo, Meruelo, Miera, Noja, Ribamontán al Mar, Ribamontán al Monte, Riotuerto, Santoña, Solórzano and Voto.
