- Transwave is a Goa trance act composed of Christophe Drouillet (known as Absolum and Frederic Holyszewski . Christophe was raised in a classical musician family, though he never had training in music or electronic. First, he got involved in various New Wave bands where he was the singer and the programmer. One day, he discovered the Techno music sound, and that changed his musical orientation. Also raised in a family of musicians, Frederic Holyszewski began his musical studies at the age of five, learning Transverse flute and piano. During his teenage years, he found inspiration in the electronic music of the day, including Jean Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Simple Minds. He bought his first synthesizer funded by working at night in bars as a pianist. After the split of his first rock band Vision Quest, in 1990, he started to work on his own with the help of computers. Christophe and Frederic met at a French Rave party and subsequently formed the psychedelic trance act Transwave in September 1994. Three months later, the first Transwave release was launched on the small French label, Transpact. Over the following two years, Transwave released three albums and toured around the world, experiencing great success in the psychedelic trance underground and scoring an international trance hit with their track, "Land of Freedom. " The group split after the D-mention party in Paris in May 1997. Christophe and Frederic also released an EP called "Anjuna" under the name Kaledoid in 1996. Transwave is known for its heavy use of TB-303 based effects. Drawing a wealth of knowledge from these experiences, Frederic ventured out and started his own record label and production studio, Questionmark RDS. In 1997, the label released his first solo album Self Oscillation under the name Deedrah which marked Frederic’s first break from the original psychedelic Goa trance sound he was producing before. Since then, Dado has worked under a variety of project names, including Cypher, Dado, and Synthetic. As for Christophe, he launched his record label 3D Vision in Paris in 1998, releasing artists as dancefloor oriented as possible. Transwave have reunited to perform again at the Boom Festival 2006 in Portugal and in the beginning of 2007 they have released "Backfire", a compilation of hits and unreleased tracks that have made Transwave. They have chosen the tracks after asking their Fans through forums and internet.

Christophe Drouillet est issu d'une famille jouant de la musique classique. Dans les années 80, il s'implique dans divers groupes new wave où il assure le chant et la programmation. Au début des années 90, il découvre la musique Techno et change son orientation musicale. Également élevé dans une famille de musiciens, Frédéric Holyszewski commence l'apprentissage de la flute traversière et du piano à partir de l'âge de cinq ans. Influencé par la musique électronique new age et new wave de Jean-Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood et Simple Minds, entre autres, il achète son premier synthétiseur en travaillant dans les bars la nuit en tant que pianiste. Après la dissolution de son premier groupe rock Vision Quest, en 1990, il commence à travailler à son compte avec l'aide d'ordinateurs. Christophe et Frédéric se rencontrent lors d'une rave partie en France et lance aussitôt le projet Psychedelic Trance, renommé "Transwave" en septembre 1994. Trois mois plus tard, leur premier opus (Datura EP) est lancé sur le label français indépendant Transpact. Les deux années suivantes, Transwave sort trois albums ("Hypnorhythm" en 1995, "Helium" et "Phototropic" en 1996) et effectue des tournées dans le monde. Le duo connait un grand succès dans le milieu underground et leur titre "Land of Freedom" devient un classique des soirées "Goa & Psychédélic Trance" à travers le monde. Le groupe se sépare après la soirée "D-mention" à Paris en mai 1997. Christophe et Frédéric ont également publié un EP appelé "Anjuna" sous le nom Kaledoid en 1996. Transwave est réputé pour son utilisation intensive du synthétiseur/séquenceur TB-303 de Roland. Fort de ces connaissances et de ses expériences acquises, Fredéric créé son propre label et studio de production, Questionmark Records. En 1997, le label sort son premier album solo "Self Oscillation" sous le pseudonyme "Deedrah", marquant une première pause de Frédéric à partir du son original Goa Trance originel qu'il produisait auparavant. Fredéric "Dado" Holyszewski aura travaillé sous une variété de noms de projets, y compris "Cypher", "Dado", "Synthétic". Christof Drouillet créé également son propre label indépendant 3D Vision Records à Paris en 1998, aux côtés de Cédric Dassule (Talamasca, Dj Lestat) et de Farid Merbouche (Dj Maël, Nomad) et lance régulièrement de nouveaux artistes orientés Ambient, Progressive et bien sûr Psytrance. Depuis, Transwave s'est réuni de nouveau au "Boom Festival" en 2006 au Portugal. Début 2007, ils ont sorti "Backfire" et "Frontfire", compilations de hits et de morceaux inédits qui ont fait le succès du groupe.
