  • Tosh.0 is a series that first aired on Comedy Central in June 4, 2009 starring comedian Daniel Tosh. It focuses on internet viral video in the style of The Soup. The first season proved a surprise hit, averaging over a million viewers per episode and ranking as the number 2 most watched cable show amongst 18-34 year old males, a sought after advertising demographic. The show was originally only scheduled for 10 episodes, but as its popularity increased, Comedy Central renewed it for a second season. "Tosh.0" Season 2 will premiere on October 8, 2009. REGULAR SEGMENTS Show Beginning Tosh.0 begins with a video from the Web. Then, Tosh starts the show by using a series of internet videos to base his jokes, usually about the on-screen connection or alluding to an event or figure in pop culture. Two videos are selected for one of two bits: a 20-second period where Tosh makes as many comments as possible; and Video Breakdown, which is similar to the slow-mo gizmo on America's Funniest Home Videos, where the host does a frame-by-frame commentary on a certain video. Web Redemption People known for a particularly embarrassing moment are given a second chance to save face. Redemptions have included Miss Teen South Carolina 2007, Rae Dogg, a man who vomited during a live newscast promoting his film festival, and a best man who dropped an abortion joke while toasting his newlywed brother. Celebrity Videos Tosh's friends or other celebrities submit videos to or agree to be in segments filmed for the show. Stars who've appeared in this segment include Dave Attell, Harland Williams, Kristin Cavallari, Jack McBrayer, and Tommy Chong, a known marijuana smoker. On his appearance, he raced against Salvia Eric to see whose plant of choice, weed or salvia, was superior. Chong won, as Eric was giggling and laying down on the tires. Viewer Video of the Week One fan-made video is picked for air. Nods to Comedy Central's past Before the last commercial, Tosh says "We'll be right back with more" and then names a show no longer aired on Comedy Central. Mentioned series includes That's My Bush, Weekends at the D.L. , Battlebots, Shorties Watching Shorties, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and Don't Forget Your Toothbrush.
