Tony Robert-Fleury was a French painter. He was born just outside Paris, and studied under his father Joseph-Nicolas Robert-Fleury and under Delaroche and Léon Cogniet. His first picture at the Salon, in 1866, was a large historical composition of the Warsaw Massacres on April 8, 1861. In the following year, his "Old Women in the Place Navone, Rome" was bought for the Luxembourg Museum, as was also the "Last Day of Corinth" in 1870.

- Tony Robert-Fleury was a French painter. He was born just outside Paris, and studied under his father Joseph-Nicolas Robert-Fleury and under Delaroche and Léon Cogniet. His first picture at the Salon, in 1866, was a large historical composition of the Warsaw Massacres on April 8, 1861. In the following year, his "Old Women in the Place Navone, Rome" was bought for the Luxembourg Museum, as was also the "Last Day of Corinth" in 1870. In 1880, he painted a ceiling for the Luxembourg, representing "The Glorification of French Sculpture. " Tony Robert-Fleury became president of the Société des artistes français in succession to Bouguereau. He acquired a great reputation for his historical compositions and portraits; and from his atelier have issued a great number of the best-known painters of the 20th century.

Tony Robert-Fleury a étudié avec son père Joseph-Nicolas Robert-Fleury, Léon Cogniet et Paul Delaroche. Il s’est lié avec ses autres élèves comme Gustave Boulanger, Louis Gallet et Ernest Hébert. Son premier tableau au Salon de Paris de 1866, était une grande composition historique du Massacre de Varsovie du 8 avril 1861. L’année suivante, le musée du Luxembourg achète son Vieilles femmes sur la Place Navone, Rome ainsi que le dernier jour de Corinthe en 1870 sujet de Tite-Live. En 1880, il peint un plafond pour le Luxembourg représentant la Glorification de la sculpture française. Tony Robert-Fleury a remplacé Bouguereau au siège de président de la Société des artistes français, avec lequel il enseigne à l'Académie Julian, dont il est le professeur en titre. En 1908, il est élu président de la Fondation Taylor, fonction qu'il occupera jusqu'à la fin de sa vie. Il a acquis sa réputation pour ses compositions historiques ainsi que pour ses portraits et ses scènes de genre.
