In March 2007, Brad Delp (Boston's original and then current lead singer) committed suicide at the age of 55. As a tribute to Brad, Tommy wrote a song and posted it on his Myspace page. Another Boston fan heard Tommy's work, was impressed, and suggested that Tommy send his Myspace page link to a Boston associate, offering up an old email address in the process Tommy sent the link, and was then approached by Boston leader Tom Scholz to be one of the singers, along with Michael Sweet of Stryper, during the Brad Delp Tribute Concert in the Bank Of America Pavilion in Boston, MA. In March 2008, Scholz approached DeCarlo again to be one of the lead singers during Boston's 2008 tour. DeCarlo is currently on leave from his job as a Credit Manager for a Home Depot in Charlotte, NC.
