Timothy Ware (born 11 September 1934), usually now known as Kallistos (Ware), is a titular metropolitan bishop of the Greek Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarchate and one of the best known contemporary Eastern Orthodox academic authors. From 1966 to 2001, Ware was Spalding Lecturer of Eastern Orthodox Studies at the University of Oxford and has authored numerous books and articles pertaining to the Orthodox Christian faith.

Mit 24 Jahren konvertierte er zur griechisch-orthodoxen Kirche. In der Folge verbrachte er einige Jahre in Griechenland, auf dem Berg Athos und in Jerusalem. 1966 wurde er zum Priester geweiht und trat als Mönch ins Kloster St. Johannes der Theologe in Patmos ein, wo er den Namen Kallistos erhielt. Im gleichen Jahr begann er an der Oxford Universität orthodoxe Studien zu lehren, eine Position, die er 35 Jahre lang behielt, bis zu seinem Rücktritt. 1982 wurde er als Hilfsbischof des Bischofs der Erzdiözese von Tyateira und Großbritannien des Ökumenischen Patriarchats zum Titularbischof von Diokleia geweiht. Auch Tyateira ist ein Titularbistum. Als Bischof blieb er in Oxford und führte auch sein Amt als Gemeindepriester der griechisch-orthodoxen Gemeinde von Oxford weiter. 2001 trat er altershalber in Oxford zurück, aber er fährt fort zu publizieren und reist viel, um Vorträge über die orthodoxe Kirche zu halten. Am 31. März 2007 wurde Kallistos Ware zum Metropoliten von Diokleia ernannt.
