- Timothy Braun is an American author. His work includes plays, essays, short stories, and criticism. Described by novelist Monique Truong as “American Baroque" Braun's plays have been produced at The Asylum (NV), Ensemble Studio Theater (NY), The Flea (NY), Hyde Park (TX), The Loft (CO), The Ohio (NY), Ontological-Hysteric Theater (NY), The Neighborhood Playhouse (NY), Riverside Theater (Ireland), Seattle Fringe (WA), Theatre X (NM), The Vern Riffe Center (OH), and site-specific spaces across America. Braun has published with Audience, The Columbia Review, Euphony, Midway Journal, Mr. Beller's Neighborhood, Northville review, The Oregon Literary Review, Paper Wall, Playscripts Inc. , Quay Journal of the Arts, Review Americana, San Antonio Current, Santa Fe Writer's Project, Silent City, Six Sentences, Word Riot, and blogs for The Austin Chronicle, cuturebot. org, Luupe, and killingthebudha. com. Braun's writing has been supported by the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, and a Dorothy Norton Clay fellowship from the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts. Braun was named a Warhol Fellow at the Santa Fe Art Institute for the 2008-2009 season, and the 2009-2010 season. He lives in Austin, TX and is a professor of writing in the School of Humanities at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and American Dilemmas and Cultural Studies at St. Edwards University.
