In the field of law, Tilburg University was ranked #1 in the Netherlands for the last three years according to Elsevier Magazine, and came in second to Cambridge University in a ranking of European law schools. In 2002, Tilburg University awarded honorary doctorates to Kofi Annan, Prof. dr.
