Theoren Wallace "Theo" Fleury (born June 29, 1968) is a professional ice hockey player under a tryout contract with the Calgary Flames. Fleury was drafted by the Flames in the 8th round, 166th overall, of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He played over 1000 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Flames, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. At times the smallest player in the NHL, Fleury played a physical style, often leading to altercations.

He played over 1000 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Flames, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. At times the smallest player in the NHL, Fleury played a physical style, often leading to altercations. As a junior, he was at the centre of the infamous Punch-up in Piestany, a brawl that saw both Canada and the Soviet Union disqualified from the 1987 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Once considered unlikely play in the NHL due to his size, Fleury scored over 1000 points over the course of his NHL career and has won the Stanley Cup in 1989 with the Flames, and a gold medal at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. In 1996, Fleury was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. He battled drug and alcohol addictions throughout his career, which ultimately forced him out of the NHL in 2003. He played one season in the British Elite Ice Hockey League in 2005–06 and made two attempts to win the Allan Cup before announcing in 2009 that he hoped to make a return to the NHL at the age of 41. Outside of hockey, Fleury overcame his addictions and briefly operated a concrete business in Calgary with his family and filmed a pilot for a reality television show based around it. He marketed his own brand of clothing, which led him to play two professional baseball games for the Calgary Vipers of the Golden Baseball League. He co-wrote the book Playing with Fire, a tell-all biography of his life that will be released in October, 2009. It is the second book to be written about Fleury.
