- The Villeins are a mixture of 5 lads, Dave (Vocals), Gav (Bass) & Duff (Guitar) have lived in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne all their lives, where as Andy (Guitar) moved to Newcastle from the North-West to study at Northumbria University as did Sam (Drums) who moved up from Redcar. Their music has been described as heavy post-punk. The band has been together for just over two years; however they recently had a line up change – replacing the drummer and one of their guitarists in the process. The line up change came at the worst time possible for them as they were on some what of a roll, gaining some great reviews from local press in the North East such as Narc music magazine and national press such as NME's breaking bands list on 24th November 2007, Mighy Boosh Edition p.71 Since replacing the drummer and the guitarist The Villeins have begun gigging again and picked up where they left off, supporting the likes of Chris Helme of The Seahorses and, more recently, The Paddingtons. The Villeins recently recorded their second EP ‘Nice Guys Finish Last’ which has had a great response from fans and magazines in the North East as well as fellow musicians well established in the industry such as ‘The Rev’
