The Pipettes are a British indie pop girl group formed in Brighton. The current line-up consists of sisters, Gwenno and Ani Saunders and Beth Mburu-Bowie. Founding member, Julia Clarke-Lowes, left the band in 2005, with Rose Elinor Dougall and Rebecca Stephens also choosing to part ways at the beginning of 2008. New member Anna McDonald left after only seven months in the band and was replaced in early 2009 by Beth Mburu-Bowie.

The female members are backed by all-male band, The Cassette, which have also had several member changes, but at present include: Monster Bobby, the Falcone brothers; Jon and Seb, and Alex White. To date, The Pipettes have released one album, We Are the Pipettes, and released numerous singles to support it; the most successful being "Pull Shapes" which peaked at #26 in the UK Singles Chart.
