- The Pendragon Adventure is a young adult series of fantasy novels by D. J. MacHale. They follow the chronicles of Bobby Pendragon, a teenager who discovers that he, as well as his two best friends, Mark Dimond and Courtney Chetwynde, must try to save the universe. Each book switches between the first-person perspective of Bobby's journals and third-person narratives of other prominent characters. The first book, The Merchant of Death, was originally published in 2002 by Aladdin Paperbacks. The series has ten books: The Merchant of Death, The Lost City of Faar, The Never War, The Reality Bug, Black Water, The Rivers of Zadaa, The Quillan Games, The Pilgrims of Rayne, Raven Rise, and The Soldiers of Halla. On his official site, MacHale stated that he had finished the first draft of the last book, and said it would be a "killer finale. " It was released on May 12, 2009. He also announced that the first graphic novel based on the Pendragon series would be released around the time of the ninth book, and that a short series of books meant to be companions to the series will be released, with the release of the first companion book scheduled for before the release of book ten. The site went down for approximately two days starting the 23rd of November until the 25th of November, the day the 's third and final cover was due to be revealed.

In het Nederlands is de serie nauwelijks bekend, maar in Frankrijk en Amerika doet hij goede zaken. Hier heet de serie tot nu toe simpelweg Pendragon. Tot nu toe zijn er in het Engels negen boeken uitgegeven. De tiende wordt in mei 2009 gepubliceerd. In het Nederlands, daarentegen, zijn alleen de eerste twee boeken verkrijgbaar: De Wereldreiziger De Drijvende Stad De boeken gaan over de avonturen van Bobby Pendragon, een tiener die ontdekt dat hij Halla moet redden. Halla is alles wat is, elk territorium, elk levend wezen op de territoria, en elke tijd die er bestond, bestaat en zal bestaan. Hij schrijft zijn avonturen op in dagboeken die hij naar zijn twee beste vrienden (Mark Dimond en Courtney Chetwynde)stuurt. Elk boek gaat over een ander territorium. Na Denduronie dwa plemiona - Milago i Bedoowianie - walczą ze sobą. Jest coraz gorzej, Bedoowianie chcą od Milago lazurytu (w danej strefie najwartościowszy kamień). Jeżeli dziennie nie zdobędą go tyle, ile waży wybierany codziennie inny Milago, wybrany ginie. Wszystko to przez Saint Dane'a, każącego na Denduronie nazywać się Mallosem. Bobby musi temu zapobiec i musi się spieszyć. W końcu jemu, towarzyszącej mu partnerce, Loor i wujkowi Pressowi udaje się pogodzić dwa plemiona. Zaginione miasto Faar Drugi tom przygód Bobby'ego, który musi uratować podwodny świat o nazwie Cloral przed Saint Dane'em, który chce go zatruć. Bobby nie może na to pozwolić. Wirus rzeczywistości Aja Killian, Wędrowiec z Veeloxu, wzywa Bobby'ego na pomoc. Okazuje się, że Saint Dane, mimo jej zabezpieczeń, wślizgnął się do tej strefy i zamierza spowodować katastrofę. Sam Veelox okazuje się być zaawansowaną technologicznie strefą - wszyscy ludzie żyją zamknięci w symulacjach swojego życia, powodujących, że każdy może dowolnie wyobrazić sobie swoje istnienie. Brzmi ciekawie, jednak nie musi być to dobre. Czarna woda Bobby Pendragon udaje się do kolejnej zagrożonej strefy, w której najinteligentniejszymi istotami są wielkie koty, a krwiożercze quigi mają ludzką postać... Nie to stanowi jednak największe zagrożenie. Demoniczny Saint Dane sprowadził na Eelong truciznę z Cloralu i strefę może uratować tylko clorańskie antidotum. Problem polega na tym, że według reguł rządzących Hallą nie wolno przenosić niczego pomiędzy strefami. Czy – jak twierdzi Saint Dane – rzeczywistość nieodwracalnie się zmieniła i można łamać odwieczne zasady? Bobby staje przed trudnym wyborem, a walka z okrutnym i nieprzewidywalnym demonem coraz bardziej się komplikuje...
