The mansion can also be seen on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Funky Monks DVD (released 1991) and the making of Minutes to Midnight DVD. In the 1960s and 70s many famous artists such as Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles stayed there. The house, at 2451 Laurel Canyon, was owned by Errol Flynn in the late 1930's. It is just north of a house at 2435 Laurel Canyon that was rented by Harry Houdini for roughly one year around 1919. The lot at 2400 Laurel Canyon for many years had stone and cement ruins of a large house that burned to the ground in 1959, and these ruins were often erroneously referred to as the "haunted" Houdini estate.
