  • The Last Laurel tells the story of a crippled man, Marius Davis, who is forced to do nothing but lay in bed all day. His lack of abililty to do anything makes him believe that his doctor is having an affair with his wife. However, his abilities at night change. He is able to rise from his body in a spiritual form and pick things up. On a dark and stormy night, he decides to kill the doctor. He gets up, and to test his strength, picks up a large trophy in his room. As he exits his room, he finds his wife's scissors and picks it up. A loud thunderclap causes him to drop the scissors. As he kneels on the floor to find it, he finds instead metal bar which he decides to use to kill the man. He goes into what he thinks is the doctor's room and immediately strikes the man in bed, but cries in horror when he sees the trophy on the floor, and sees his own body with his own fatal blow applied. He screams "OH GOD! I'm in the wrong room!" He begins to move towards his body, but his spiritual form quickly fades away. A voice from the hallway is heard, "Marius, are you alright?" The last words in the episode are spoken weakly by the crippled man: "Marius Davis doesn't live here anymore."
