Böylece City Lights'da da Chaplin polise yakalanmamak için bir arabanın içinden diğer tarafa -kaldırıma- geçer, gözleri görmeyen çiçekçi kız da arabanın kapanan kapısının sesi ile onu arabasından inen zengin bir adam zanneder. Bir diğeri de bu filmde Chaplin'in pantolununu giymeyi unuttuğundan önüne gazete tutarak yerde yaptığı ilginç yürüyüştür ki bu da Lime Lights filminde önemli bir yer tutar.
