The Front Lawn also performed in Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand. The group's 1989 piece "The Reason For Breakfast" was described as "superb" by The New York Times. Of their three short films two - "Walk Short" and "The Lounge Bar" - were screened by Channel 4 in the UK, and "The Lounge Bar" was a finalist in the 1989 American Film Festival. Don McGlashan went on to form the New Zealand band The Mutton Birds, and later went on to pursue a solo career.
