Although the album was not as successful in the USA, it was a double platinum hit (600,000 copies sold) in the U.K. and yielded 5 top 40 hits, including the second UK Top 10 single from the album, "One Shining Moment", which made UK #10. The album featured no less than 7 different singles released in several international territories. it spoke to the strength of the song selection with "Battlefield" being released in the Benelux countries and the "Waiting in the Wings (remix)"a critical success that remains a fan favorite. The song "If We Hold On Together" was prominently featured as the closing credits theme for the Don Bluth animated children's film, The Land Before Time (1988). This song was a huge hit in Japan where it remained in the Number One position for 12 weeks, selling almost 500,000 copies and becaming the single most sold by a singer stranger of the 90's . Japanese band "NICOTINE" also did a cover of the song in their 2004 album "Discovered", and Jordin Sparks performed the song on a 2007 episode of American Idol. The international edition of The Force Behind the Power has two additional tracks, "No Matter What You Do," which is a duet with Al B. Sure!, and "You And I". The album was successful enough internationally that Ross' "Here and Now" Tour lasted nearly 2 years garnering television specials, gold and platinum certifications in the U.K. to Japan to Australia.
