Formed in 2005, in no time they went on to tour with such bands as Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for My Valentine and Megadeth and were slotted on Rockstar's Taste of Chaos 2006 Tour. In 2008 the band announced their breakup on January 15,2008 after touring with Avenged Sevenfold. Rumors quickly spread of reasons why the band broke up from contract negligence, members leaving, to the band just wanting to call it quits.

In the three years that The Confession were together, they released a self titled five song EP and their first and only full length album, Requiem. Matt Pauling spends his time producing music for various bands around California. Taylor, through myspace, was rumored to be joining the band Escape The Fate as their new lead singer, but it was just a rumor which he later denounced. The track "Through These Eyes" was featured on EA's racing game Burnout Dominator, at the time the album (which would later become Requiem)was yet to be titled and so only the band name and song title are shown on the track listing.
