The Candy Band is a punk rock musical group for children. Its members are four stay-at-home moms from Detroit. Their current line-up is: Almond Joy, guitar; Skittles, vocals; Kit-Kat, bass; and Starburst, drums. The band was formed in 2003 by Detroit music veteran Paula Messner, formerly of the Motor Dolls and the Vertical Pillows. The band plays hard rocking versions of nursery rhymes, movie themes and other children's favorites. Their first album, Candy Band, was released in 2003.
