Si tratta di un film a basso costo, un "trash" a pieno titolo, che, come suggerisce il nome, ha una trama avventurosa con elementi fantascientifici e alcuni splatter, basata sulla riscoperta della mitica Atlantide. Evidentemente si basa sull'imitazione dei film post-apocallittici in voga in quegli anni; il titolo è una palese citazione de I predatori dell'arca perduta. Il film ha attualmente una reperibilità molto bassa, non è stato pubblicato in DVD, ne è disponibile solo un raro VHS edito dalla Mitel, e passa in TV raramente e in tarda notte.
