He began recording in 1988 with C.J. Bolland as Space Opera (eventually releasing four singles for R&S Records) and also recorded the first single for Fragile ("Why Don't You Answer" as himself) before meeting McBean, a top DJ who had worked with Keith Franklin of Bang the Party as the DJ team KCC.

Ferreira war bereits als Toningenieur bei Jack Trax Records tätig, wo er Marshall Jefferson oder Derrick May bei Produktionen mitwirkte. 1988 nahm er zusammen mit CJ Bolland unter dem Pseudonym Space Opera einige Tracks auf, die vom belgischen Label R&S Records-Label veröffentlicht werden. 1989 starteten Colin McBean und Francisco Ferreira zunächst als DJ-Team. 1994 erschien das Debütalbum "Elements Of Life" von The Advent auf Internal Recordings. 1997 kam das nächste Album unter dem Titel "A New Beginning" heraus. Internal Records warf das Duo kurz nach dem Release raus, obwohl die Platte mit ihrem Electro-Phunk-Appeal als ein Meilenstein gefeiert wurde. 1999 verließ McBean, angeblich angenervt vom ständigen Tourstress das Projekt. Der Musik hält er mit dem Soloprojekt G Flame & Mr. G und seinem Label Phoenix G Records weiterhin die Treue. Ferreira machte seitdem als Ein-Mann-Act weiter. Es folgten weitere Produktionen auf dem Label Kombination Research Label.
