Terryland Park underwent redevelopment in 1993 and as a result Galway United played in Crowley Park, the home of rugby side Galwegians, for one season. The stadium received a €500,000 grant from the Irish Government in 2006, the money going towards further development works, chief of which was the building of a new 1,500-seater stand. Shortly before the end of the 2008 season, Terryland Park was voted as the best surface in the eircom League of Ireland for the second year running.
