Tarika is a musical group from Madagascar. The group's predecessor, Tarika Sammy, began in the 1980s, but as Tarika they debuted in 1993. At that point they had relocated to London. Their second album Son Egal involved work with Senegalese musicians and dealt with a 1947 revolt in Madagascar. That said a great deal of their music is more concerned with dance or musical tradition. D was most concerned with dance music.
