Tego dnia aresztowano Mario Chiesa, członka Włoskiej Partii Socjalistycznej. Przed tym wydarzeniem mówiło się o wielkich wpływach jakie miała partia rządząca na m. in. telewizję RAI. Symbolem Tangentopoli stał się Bettino Craxi, lider partii WPS.
