- Tambalane was an Australian Pop rock band that was formed in 2003 by Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies and troubadour Wesley Carr after Silverchair went on hiatus in 2003. They released a single album which contained the singles "Little Miss Liar" and "Free". Tambalane originally started as a songwriting project aside from Silverchair for Gillies along with Carr and would eventually become a band in 2004. They would add Greg Royal on bass and Gerard Masters on keyboards and tour Australia supporting End of Fashion before releasing their debut self-titled album in 2005 and following it up with a national tour. The band parted ways in the end of 2005 with Gillies returning to record the new Silverchair album and stating that "It became an unpleasant power struggle" within the band itself. Wesley Carr since the bands end has launched a solo career with the release of an EP that will be followed up with his debut album. He has recently become the winner of the sixth season of Australian Idol.
