O Parlamento feroé, denominado Løgting, encontra-se situado na península de Tinganes, onde está localizado igualmente o centro histórico do município. Em 29 de Junho de 2010, Elton John fez um show histórico na cidade, levando grande parte de sua população para as ruas.
