Sie wurde in ihrer Heimat mehrfach für ihre Arbeiten ausgezeichnet und war Mitglied der internationalen Jury auf der Berlinale 1992. Ihre Regiearbeit 20:30:40 über drei Frauen im Alter von 20, 30 und 40 Jahren im heutigen Taiwan nahm am Wettbewerb der Berlinale 2004 teil.

- 張艾嘉（英文名：Sylvia Chang，1953年7月22日－），台灣嘉義人，祖籍山西五台，其父為中華民國空軍軍官，外祖父魏景蒙曾任中華民國第六任新聞局長、中央通訊社社長等職，並獲前總統蔣經國聘為總統府國策顧問。 張艾嘉是華人重要電影導演、演員與流行音樂作曲家、歌手。張艾嘉演技出色，編導風格突出，屬於多才多藝型的藝術家。 張艾嘉早期在香港的電影扮演剽悍女警官的角色，最著名的是與麥嘉合作的「最佳拍檔」。張艾嘉後來不斷作其他嘗試，並開始執導。她執導的作品大多以女性角度出發，與當時充滿男子氣慨的港產動作片有很強烈的對比。她比較出名的作品有《最愛》 (1986年)、《新同居時代》 (1994年)、《少女小漁》 (1995年)、《今天不回家》 (1996年)、《心動》 (1999年)、《想飛》 (2002年)、《20-30-40》 (2004年)等。 張艾嘉的音樂創作與表演作品亦甚多，「童年」、「忙與盲」、「明天會更好」等作品膾炙人口。張艾嘉曾與創作者羅大佑交往，其綽號「小妹」以此而來。據稱羅大佑若干情歌創作與他和張艾嘉的交往有關。但由於觀念差異，以分手收場。羅大佑以名作「是否」一曲紀念兩人的感情。張艾嘉1991年奉子結婚，夫婿是王靖雄先生。 張艾嘉在1976年憑「碧雲天」贏得第十三屆金馬獎最佳女配角，是廣受肯定的開始，時年21歲。1980年第一次以「茉莉花」一片提名挑戰金馬獎影后，終於在1981年以「我的爺爺」一片榮登金馬獎最佳女主角寶座，1986年作品「最愛」榮獲金馬獎最佳導演與最佳女主角雙提名，最後獲得影后。「最愛」曾獲當年金馬獎最佳影片等八項提名，另又獲得1987年香港電影金像獎最佳女主角，堪稱張艾嘉執導與從影以來最輝煌的時刻。 此後張艾嘉繼續參與演出和創作，2001年與梅豔芳皆再度提名金馬獎影后，敗於新人秦海璐。但次年即以「地久天長」一片贏得香港電影金像獎及香港影評人協會金紫荊獎雙料最佳女主角，證明張艾嘉的表演創作生涯仍活躍不衰。
