Cowell claims Syco accounted for approximately 40% of Sony Music (UK) profit in 2006, despite only employing 14 people. By 2008, it was believed that Syco accounted for as much as 70% of Sony Music (UK)'s profits. On the 24th June 2009 it was revealed that Cowell is to form a coalition with Sir Philip Green to create Greenwell Entertainment. SyCo will therefore be merged into the company.
