In a letter to Abigail on June 29, 1769, John made a request of Abigail, for "Suky": "Can't you contrive to go to Braintree to kiss my little Suky, for me?" The child, so loved by her parents, sadly, did not make it through her second winter and died a little over a month after her first birthday, February 4, 1770.
