Dallas' Larry Brown became the first cornerback to be named Super Bowl MVP, by recording two interceptions thrown by Neil O'Donnell and returning them for a total of 77 yards. The Cowboys sealed the victory by converting Brown's interceptions into 2 touchdowns. The NBC television broadcast averaged 95.13 million people in the United States, making the most-watched sporting event ever on American television, and the second most-watched program of all, trailing only the final episode of M*A*S*H. The metropolitan Phoenix area hosted the Super Bowl again twelve years later.
