- The Suicide Squad is a name for two fictional organizations in DC Comics Universe. The first version debuted in The Brave and the Bold #25, the second, also known as Task Force X, in Legends #3. An "original" Suicide Squad was retconned into continuity in Secret Origins vol. 2, #14 in order to form a connection between the first Squad and the second.
- Suicide Squad (dt. "Selbstmordkommando", freier "Himmelfahrtskommando") ist der Titel einer Reihe von Comicserien, die der US-amerikanische Verlag DC-Comics seit 1987 veröffentlicht. Die Serie, die eine Mischung aus Action- und Agentengeschichten mit einigen Science-Fiction-Elementen darstellt, handelt von den Erlebnissen einer geheimen Regierungsorganisation, die sich aus Strafgefangenen mit außerordentlichen Fähigkeiten rekrutiert, denen im Austausch für die Teilnahme an riskanten Geheimdienstoperationen Straffreiheit zugesagt wird. Der Name Suicide Squad – der freilich nur als Titelzug der Hefte benutzt wurde, während die Gruppe sich in der Handlung im Innern der Hefte stets nur "Task Force X" nennt – auf den Heftcovern macht dabei die hohe Wahrscheinlichkeit kenntlich, von einer dieser Operationen nicht lebendig zurückzukehren. Als Vorbilder von Suicide Squad gelten vor allem der Kinofilm Das dreckige Dutzend sowie die Fernsehserie Mission Impossible.

Sebbene la formazione della Squad è abbastanza variabile, i membri più noti del grupppo sono: Deadshot, tiratore scelto e killer psicopatico, Capitan Boomerang, incallito criminale misogino maestro nell'uso dell'arma omonima, Conte Vertigo, despota europeo decaduto, in grado di alterare il senso dell'equilibrio negli esseri umani, Nightshade, la signora delle ombre, Adam Cray criminale in possesso dei poteri di Atomo, Bronze Tiger ex spia, maestro di arti marziali e leader del gruppo, Bane, l'uomo che spezzò Batman, Poison Ivy, eco-terrorista che odia gli uomini e comanda le piante, Tutti agli ordini di Amanda Waller, agente del governo dalla volontà d'acciaio, coordinatrice delle missioni.
