Sudanese Arabic is the variety of Arabic spoken throughout northern Sudan. It has much borrowed vocabulary from the local languages. This has resulted in a variety of Arabic that is unique to Sudan, reflecting the way in which the country has been influenced by both African and Arab cultures. Some of the tribes in the eastern part of Sudan still have similar accents to the ones in Saudi Arabia.

Der Dialekt, der in der Hauptstadtregion Khartum/Omdurman gesprochen wird, ist am stärksten verbreitet und wird auch in den anderen Regionen verstanden. Geschrieben wird in der Regel Hocharabisch. Die Anzahl der Sprecher in Sudan beläuft sich auf rund 15.000.000 (Stand 1991), sowie rund 3.986.000 (Stand 1991) in Ägypten, Äthiopien, Eritrea und Saudi-Arabien. Sudanesisch-Arabisch gilt als einer der am wenigsten erforschten arabischen Dialekte.
