Der satirischen Eigendarstellung der Stupidedia gemäß ist die Wikipedia eine Parodie auf die Stupidedia. Die Stupidedia finanziert sich durch Werbung. Nach anfänglichen Problemen mit der ursprünglichen eigenen „U&T-Lizenz“ wurde die GNU-FDL übernommen.
