Hague's first noted UK production was on Malcolm McLaren's "Madam Butterfly" single, though the video for the track got more attention than the music. His first full album production was for Crush by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. He later worked with Public Image Ltd. , Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Melanie C, Andy Pratt, Dubstar, Erasure and Robbie Robertson, producing their respective hits "West End Girls", "True Faith", "Star" and "A Little Respect."
