Yhtyeen ensimmäinen EP, For You My Dear, äänitettiin vuonna 2002. Tuolloin yhtye värväsi Evan Winikerin ja Matthias Gruberin auttamaan heitä äänittämisessä ja kiertueilla. Heistä tuli myöhemmin yhtyeen jäseniä, ensin Winikeristä ja sitten Gruberista, joka liittyi yhtyeeseen kitaristi Matthew Goldmanin kanssa. Jäsenmäärältään kasvanut yhtye äänitti vuonna 2004 1969-EP:n ja vuotta myöhemmin debyyttialbuminsa Twilight Tales from the Prairies of the Sun. Yhtyeen jäsenet Matthias Gruber ja Matt Goldman lähtivät yhtyeestä joulukuussa 2006. Heidät korvasivat Daniel Silbert ja Jon Shiffman. Yhtye julkaisi toisen täysipitkän albuminsa, Trampolinen, vuonna 2007.
