The Southern Bantu languages, also known as Bantu zone S, are the only one of Guthrie's mostly geographic divisions of the Bantu languages which is also a valid linguistic group. They include all of the important Bantu languages of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana, and several important languages of southern Mozambique.
