Durch die erfolgreiche Wette gegen das Britische Pfund verzeichnete Quantum Funds innerhalb einer Woche einen Gewinn von 1 Milliarde USD. Dieser Handel machte Quantum Funds weltweit bekannt, da Großbritannien als Konsequenz die festen Wechselkurse aufgab und aus dem Europäischen Währungssystem austrat.
