Smash produced four hit singles for the band "Come Out and Play", "Self Esteem", "Gotta Get Away" and the radio-only single "Bad Habit". As of 2009, it is credited as the highest selling album by a punk rock band and highest selling independent album of all time selling 16 million copies worldwide, and has continued to sell consistently well in the fifteen years since its release. The album has also been certified 6x Platinum in the United States and 4x Platinum in Australia.
