The A45 Small Heath Highway runs alongside. To the other side is the site of the former BSA factory. The 2007-2008 resignalling of the Birmingham to Warwick corridor has posed problems for Small Heath, as a large piece of signalling equipment has being erected blocking access to the disused island platform, and as a result would raise health and safety questions should the platform be reinstated.
