Emerging from the Belfast punk scene, The Setz changed musical direction in 1982 and re-named themselves Silent Running. Richard Collett (Bass), Peter Gamble (Vocals), Tony Scott (Guitars) Ian Gault (Drums) and Alex White (Keyboards). White left in 1985 to work with Joan Armatrading, resulting in the band relying on session players such as Adrian Lee (Mike & The Mechanics), Clive Gates (New Muzik) and Ian Curnow (Talk Talk) to record the next 2 albums.
