Dabei wechselten sowohl die Inhalte der Serie als auch die sie gestaltenden Künstler ständig (zum Teil nach einer, spätestens nach zwei bis drei Ausgaben). Neue Ideen sollten im Rahmen von Showcase bei der Leserschaft auf ihre Popularität hin getestet werden, ohne dem Verlag gleich das finanzielle Risiko und den organisatorischen Aufwand aufzubürden, "unerprobte" - und damit potentiell unbeliebte - Stoffe in eigenständigen Serien auf den Markt zu bringen, die dann womöglich aufgrund von fehlendem Interesse alsbald wieder eingestellt werden müssten. Nachdem die Serie 1970 mit Ausgabe #94 vorläufig eingestellt wurde, wurde sie 1976 unter Wiederaufnahme der alten Nummerierung mit Ausgabe #95 fortgeführt, bis sie schließlich 1977 mit Ausgabe #104 endgültig eingestellt wurde.
