Shehzad Afzal was nominated for the Satyajit Ray Film Foundation Award for Best Film Award 2007 in association with the British Council and the British Film Institute for documentary film, Bo Kata. In 2009, Shehzad Afzal was presented by Sean Connery the Edinburgh International Film Festival & Skillset Trailblazer Award . In 2010, Shehzad Afzal shot his debut feature film, Pendulum Drift, which is currently in post-production and due for film festival release in 2012.
